Anambra Election: Soludo Drags APGA To Court Over Disqualification

charles chukwuma soludoProfessor Charles Soludo has filed a motion in an Abuja High Court challenging his disqualification from the forthcoming Anambra state governorship election by his party, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Soludo and five other aspirants were on August 16 disqualified from contesting the November 16 governorship election of the state by the APGA screening panel.
The panel described the former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN governor as a ‘potential high risk candidate’ following his ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and decided to exclude him from participating in the August 26 APGA primaries.
However, in an ex parte motion brought Thursday by his counsel Ikechukwu Ezechukwu (SAN), Soludo prayed the court to enter an order of certiorari removing and setting aside the decision of the APGA screening panel for violating the party constitution and the 1999 constitution of Nigeria and to maintain the status quo ante bellum.
He also pleaded for an order of interim injunction restraining APGA from preventing him from taking part in the August 26 primaries pending the determination of the motion on notice.
Meanwhile Justice Peter Affen yesterday overruled the oral submission of Ezechukwu that the matter can be entertained in the FCT being the headquarters of the party, and ordered him to file further affidavits citing authorities of cases heard outside the jurisdiction of the cause of action.
In the face of the present day nigeria,,,, is it not better for this former CBN chairman to do what he knows  how to do best or to dable into politics,,, just because everyone assume the status of a politician. anyway your comments and contributions are expected.
