A criminal court judge in
Oman has sentenced an
alleged alcoholic to a year in
prison for constituting
nuisance at a public place
while drunk. The accused had entered
Sultan Qaboos Mosque in
Ruwi, the main business
district of Muscat and was
reported to police by the
imam for being intoxicated, Arabic daily Azamn The accused was
subsequently arrested by the
police. The Public Prosecution
produced him in the court
where the court was
informed that the same citizen was convicted for a
similar offence in 2005 and
was known in the area for
his loud and disturbing
behaviour after consuming
alcohol.what a shame to humanity!
